About my approach

  • I aim to make your treatment as simple and effective as possible;

  • Your treatment plan is bespoke and completely specific to your history and your needs;

  • I do not recommend multiple tests and use tests only where I know it is likely to incisively inform the best treatment;

  • I only recommend evidence-based treatment based on clinical studies and an in depth knowledge of biological systems and biochemistry;

  • I recommend the best supplements available but spend time devising plans that contain as few as possible to hit as many targets as possible;

  • I do not use overly restrictive nutrition protocols, whatever the condition, and seek to avoid the need for major long term dietary changes.

About Me

Following a successful but unfulfilling career as a commercial barrister in London I decided to change course completely and found myself drawn to retraining in physical therapy. Not being able to shake off my critical reasoning "hat" however I soon became disillusioned with the limitations of traditional manual therapy and biomechanical approaches that ignored the role of the brain, neurology and metabolism. I therefore set about learning from the best in the field and training in therapies based on applied clinical neuroscience, biochemistry and functional neurology.

My practical experience in clinic has lead to an understanding that biochemistry, immunology and the role of functional medicine provides by far the most effective approach to treating not only pain and movement issues but also a wide spectrum of health conditions. More than that though, it can offer a simple route to optimal health, vitality and longevity.

I am a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and am constantly learning and improving my clinical skills. I have run a hugely successful in person clinic (The Body Detective) in East Sussex attracting clients from all over the United Kingdom and now I am able to offer an online treatment solution for clients from all over the world.

I always strive to be a better and more efficient therapist for my clients and will always be looking at cutting edge approaches to improve my clinical skills. To that end I am permanently enrolled with the Kharrazian Institute (for Functional Medicine) also a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain.
